Repertoire Selection Panel:
Thank you to the member choirs’ MDs who responded to the request to submit recommendations for repeated and new repertoire for our 2028 Festival in Perth.
Three MDs offered to fill the Repertoire Selection Panel positions, namely:
- Judy Ferguson Wagga City Rugby Mens’ Choir
- Dr Evan Patton Metropolitan Male Choir of South Australia, and
- Mitch Meyer Melbourne Welsh Male Choir
Your committee was pleased to accept the above nominations. The Panel will commence deliberations towards the 2028 Festival selections next Monday, 27th October 2025.
Adelaide 2025 Concert Recordings:
Our Adelaide colleagues advise that final accompanying notes, artwork, design, pages and text for the ordered 161 USBs and 105 DVDs are almost ready to be forwarded to the production company. MMCSA expects they will be mailing individual choirs’ bulk orders from Adelaide in the week beginning 3rd November.
Future Planning:
Your committee would like to encourage greater interaction between member choirs in between our triennial massed male choirs’ festivals.
VOLUNTEER SOUGHT: would a chorister act as receiver of notices from any/all choir(s) to create a periodical newsletter to be distributed to all member choirs? Contact me at neilfleming549@gmail.com if you will take on this role.
We know it happens already amongst some member choirs but we further encourage interaction between member choirs to stage joint performances, again, to be promoted in such a newsletter as described above.
Any choir is also encouraged to promote any event on the MCAA website. Contact Secretary Peter O’Driscoll at jpod@bigpond.net.au with details to be added to the website.
In short, let’s get to know what each choir is doing, rejoice in that and work to promote our craft.
