Welcome to 2025! Less than four months to go before the performance weekend in Adelaide, 24-25th May 2025.

Your choir’s MCAA contact person will soon receive a notice requesting urgent details of numbers intending to participate in several MCAA Concert activities, namely:

  1. OPTIONAL PRE-CONCERT REHEARSALS

Visiting Choirs/choristers may want to plan their arrival in Adelaide in time to join in with these rehearsals. You will be asked how many singers in each of the four voice parts will attend either or both of the earlier Optional Rehearsals. This information will impact venue hire and facilitate the greeting and seating of choirs at these rehearsals.

  1. OPTIONAL REHEARSAL, SUNDAY 18 May, 1.30-5.00pm

CHOIR & ORCHESTRA, VENUE TBC – In CBD or within 10 mins drive from city.

  1. OPTIONAL REHEARSAL, THURSDAY 22 May, 6.30-9.30pm

CHOIR AND PIANO        Flinders Street Baptist Church, ADELAIDE

  1. POSSIBLE BAROSSA VALLEY WINE TOUR, FRIDAY 23 May, day tour

Non-binding expressions of interest only are sought at this stage. Costs will not be determined until viability and final numbers are clarified. You will be notified if the tour will continue to be offered along with all details of cost and itinerary.

  1. FINAL NUMBERS, CONCERT WEEKEND, Saturday 24-25th May

STAGING & MUSIC REHEARSAL

  1. SATURDAY 24 MAY, 12.00-5.00pm:

CHOIR, ORCHESTRA, PIANO & SOLOIST     ADELAIDE ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE THEATRE PERFORMANCE, MCAA Festival

  1. SUNDAY 25 MAY, 12.30-5.00pm

ADELAIDE ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE THEATRE

You will be asked to reconfirm your intention to be in attendance on BOTH days as best you can plan. Please indicate if you are a chorister with disability or are mobility challenged and how you might be accommodated on stage. This exercise is vital and needs to be as accurate as possible to allow for smooth logistics inherent in moving 400 choristers.

RETURNS FOR THE ABOVE FOUR ITEMS ARE DUE BY FRIDAY, 21ST MAY so, if you have not done so already, please firm up your decisions in respect of these matters as a matter of urgency.

  1. GALA DINNER (post Concert) SUNDAY 25 May             00 for 6.30pm

ADELAIDE CONVENTION CENTRE

A separate process for expressions of interest for the Gala Dinner will be installed. It will be a two-course dinner at $100 per person that includes a $20 per person drinks package. Complete details of dinner arrangements will be concluded soon and notified to all choirs before the closing date for bookings of 31st March. Your choir will identify a receiver of bookings and money. That person will then forward your choir’s funds to the MCAA account.
